It was fine. Adds a bit of context to the main story. The characters were a bit bland apart from Alec who was well-rounded and the best written.

Emotional book that will send you packing after reading, definitely not the worst book in the series unlike others say, really sad in some parts, and very shocking ending that had my jaw dropping, otherwise, the book was really good and I fell in love with the characters more easily than I thought

Well written, just really depressing and at times very violently graphic.

It was an okay book. definitely   not boring and made me scared, which shows good storytelling. however i found the characters flat and boring and very unrealistic. especially alec, everything he did was so contradictory. like he was supposed to be this big tough soldier but the way he was written didn’t make him seem like one. also, some actions thr characters took just seemed entirely unrealistic like why wouldn’t you just stay safe in somewhere you’ve been a year? why try and follow danger? also, alec was called any name except his real name which made it quite hard to follow eg old bear, man, the soldier, the man etc.

The blurb says this book is about Mark and Trina. It’s not.
It’s about Mark and Alec, who are saving their women (aka the women they think are theirs). Women who are supposed to be powerful and strong but whenever they need to do something are described as hopeless.

The misogyny in this book is strong.

Besides that the plot is fast and very action packed, it’s ideal for those who enjoy that. It’s very dystopian and let’s you think about our world as it is. Because of that this book did manage to get 3 stars out of me.
