Short and enjoyable read, a bit predictable plot, but Bauer's writting style makes up for it.

I am a sucker for a Tal Bauer novel, and this one is no different. I loved this book! It was nearly a perfect Romantic Suspense. My only complaint, which I never say btw, is that this book wasn’t longer. I would have loved a bit more of their love story, but it was clear early on that this was more about the crime than the romance. Thankfully, I didn’t mind all that much. Still a five star read for me. This man can write!

Very solid book.
Good mystery, great characters with a bit of a lukewarm ending.

If were to compare it to Tal's new books especially his mystery ones, then this one falls a bit short.

This is absolutely a compliment because there are leaps and bounds of improvement between this earlier release and what he's publishing now.

SO much potential...the first 1/4 of the book was brilliantly written. And then...it felt like the author was rushing to a destination.

Law and Everett were more difficult to relate to than other characters in Tal Bauer books.  They really did not have any time to build their relationships with each other or the reader.  Within 2 days of meeting each other the reader is expected to believe they care for each other enough to risk their own lives in the motel shoot out.  When all is said and done the mystery was met and the characters not as well fleshed out as I expected from this author.
