After reading the first book, I had to get the second book. Still good reading, and I still struggled a little with Faye. Dodge is a great character and he does his best to protect Faye, but she has this subtle determination to take care of herself. And it's just a little irritating. Still, an exciting read.

This book followed on nicely from the first one. It was great to see the reunion of certain characters and their relationships unfold.

I found the pacing slower in this book. At times it did pick up but then it would slow down again.

I liked the multiple POVs, especially because some of them were from new characters. They added more depth to the plot and made things more interesting.

There were times when the dialogue was confusing again. Sometimes it's not clear who was talking and who else was replying.

I'm not keen on the religious aspects of these books but that is personal preference.

I wish there was another book as I'd like to see how everyone lived afterwards, if the world was populated again etc.

I can't remember if I rated book one 4 Stars or 5 Stars.
Whatever it was I loved it.
And this book is a disaster.
It's preachy.
I mean 90% of humans are dead and we are told that prayers work because the parents of 2 boys must have prayed they would survive. Seriously?
That's just one cringeworthy moment in a book that is full of them.
I really loved book one and for that reason alone I finished this book but honestly I shouldn't have.
One, maybe two stars.

I liked this book better than the first in the series. Faye didn't get on my nerves as much. The twist with Bud was really sad though.

I liked the story, but the main character was a bit hard to take and I found the writing a little bit of a chore to read. I kept noticing I was reading a story instead of being immersed within it.
