Something of a departure from Bradshaw's other work, here he opts for much less humour and much more darkness. A story that examines the darkness at the core of humanity, and contrasts it with the infinite darkness that surrounds everything we think we know, just ready to force its way in and devour everything. Bradshaw looks at the horror we experience just by existing, and what it means when we finally face what lies beyond. A very compelling story that proves there is much more to Bradshaw's work than bizarre concepts and ridiculously funny puns. Even though we still need those types of his fiction, this made for a rewarding departure.
