This autobook was an absolute joy to listen to. Not only did the main character feel like an actual person with flaws and a personality but I thought all the side characters that were revlevabt to the story felt fleshed out and I felt myself sympathizing with most of the characters in the book. Though I would have liked to see a bit more of the two ladies connect more I get why it was written that way. Overall a great story!

I also found myself extremely sad towards the end at both Allen’s and Cora’s death; Allen’s being so sad because throughout his life he had to hide who he was in order and while he was able to be with the man he loved it was incredibly heartbreaking to see him as even though we don’t see too much of it due to the story being in Cora’s perspective and though Cora’s was supposed to be to show how her life was something to be remembered as she goes through all the names she’s taken and it was very inspiring.

I enjoyed parts of this book, especially the setting in 1920s New York City. However it really dragged on! I don't think I would have finished it if I wasn't listening to the audiobook version.
