LL does it again.

This book was unputdownable. I had my misgivings about the concept. The guy and girl are dating and in love, break up but never get over each other and then get together again. The idea has been done to death but doesn't feel stale at all in hands of Lauren.

I loved the H Reece and I feel that his character was done better than the h, Lucy's but both of them were adorable. The banter was amazing and their chemistry very evident.

I loved the book but you probably already knew it.

I am sorry bit they know each other since they were kids. I cannot believe he will think like that.

These two were idiots. Total idiots. Who even goes on a 2 week car trip with someone you hate!?

Yes I actually had issues with this one, and it is a Lauren Layne! It just did not feel like a Lauren Layne. They acted like teenagers, and that is being nice to teens! If this has been a YA book and they had been 17 and 18, then I could forgive them. But a 24 and 25 year old who is stuck 2 weeks in a car and can't communicate. Instead they start a million times and never finish. Just talk! TALK. But nope, they act like sulky teens instead.

Oh and do not even get me started on Reece! He had NO reason to hate her, no reason at all. I have no idea why she kept running after him. I was all for cutting him loose and leaving him stranded somewhere. After I finished it I was still all for her ditching Reese.

But now it sounds like I did not like it at all. I did like it. But that is all because of Amy Melissa Bentley, she is my favorite female narrator. She saved this book for me and I looked forward to her voice.

As for Rudy Sanda...yeah, I had issues. His Virginian accents annoyed me to death. His voice for Lucy was so *sorry*! redneck and like she was the kind that marries her cousin. His normal narration was fine, but when he played Lucy, or any female *cringes*

Omg, I am just complaining! It was still a good book!.

But his Lucy just kept nagging at me. And if I picture this as a YA road trip instead it works so much better. She missed her mark there. Should have been YA with a few changes.

Conclusion:
It was good. It is worth it cos AM Bentley saves the book. Her voice is always fun.

2.5 stars.

This is my lesser favourite LL novels.

I didn't really care for either of the angsty lead characters and their story.

Reese was a frustrating idiot and all in all, this book was just fucking frustrating to read. The payoff was anger fuelled and sooooo not worth the tedious buildup. Every high and low (and there were numerous) was just tiresome after a point.

You know how there are those authors who you give you the books you love over and over again, who just seem to give you everything you want out of a book? Well that's Lauren Layne for me, to say that I love her would be a huge understatement. So I'm not saying this lightly when I say this may be my favorite LL book ever. I love a second chance love story, I love a brother's best friend story, put them together and it's pure magic.

This is the story of Reece and Lucy's two week cross country road trip. The pair hasn't spoken in the six years following their breakup. There is anger, hurt and unresolved feelings on both sids. I loved the flashbacks This gave me everything thing I wanted, the feelings, and as always left me happy.
