I didn't think it was possible to have a more confusing plot than the first two volumes, but wow, they accomplished it.
Once I figured out what the hell was going on in the third act, it was an interesting concept. Unfortunately, like a lot of other reviewers have said and I've echoed - the show is just better. There is no reason to read these, they're confusing, the art is a mess, and the characters make no sense.
If there is ever a volume 4 I'll be thrilled to hate read it. But right now I'll take the wonderful adaption that actually assigns the cast of characters a personality.

Graphic: Racial slurs, Gore, Gun violence, Drug abuse, and Incest
Gore and gun violence are featured prominently. Again, there's some weird random racism shit thrown in. Klaus has a drug overdose that puts him in the hospital, but since he can't die there is no repercussions. The entire overdose is illustrated. Luther and Allison are still kind of a thing? But then there was also some vague mess that Diego loved Vanya in secret. So more adopted incest things.
