An entertaining if straightforward tale in the Alien universe. There are no likeable characters here.

I can see why people say it was hard to root for someone in this book. It was a lot of people screwing each other over until they got screwed over. Even when the xenomorphs came into play, it was almost like they were an afterthought to the people still just fighting with each other.

I was already predisposed to liking this because I'm a ho for the Alien franchise, tbh. The audiobook was really solid, there was plenty of gruesome space murder. And my God, I've never hated a character more than Dorian, which I know is the point, but he was comically evil. I was almost annoyed he didn't suffer more than he did.

I also really liked that the main character in a survival story was a physically disabled woman who had to use her wits to overcome literally insane odds. These kind of stories are almost always about super fit and prepared people punching their problems away, but Blue had to be ruthless and cunning to live. Sometimes emphasis on the ruthless.

Also, #JusticeForMarcus, someone please help my android son.

I was really surprised by how fucking amazing this book is. I have read other books a part of major franchises and it's always hit or miss. Add on top of that I didn't really "like" any of the main characters and I was skeptical to say the least. However, this book knocked it out of the park!! It was fascinating to see how each person handled the situation, the struggles character had with injury and illness, absolutely perfect! This turned into be one of my favorites.
