This book is SUPER difficult for me to rate.

Honestly, I hated the first 75% of it. It was boring and cliché in my opinion. The way the characters acted felt pathetic and pretentious to me and also very unoriginal - I feel like you could have put them in another YA Dystopian novel and just exchange them with pretty much any cast of characters in YA Dystopia and not see much difference (and also what was it with Ruby CONSTANTLY blacking out? It was over the top for me). I just kept listening to it because I wanted to know how the series is wrapped up and also because I love Zu.

And I'm glad I did, because then came the last 25% of the book. I LOVED the final 25%. There was this character death that BROKE MY HEART. I was crying on the bus because it hit me so hard (which is really remarkable given that I didn't like any of the characters except Zu for the first 75%). I hated the romance in the beginning and in the end, I almost cried happy tears because I was so invested. I loved the way the book ended. So yeah. 1 star for the first 75%, but 5 stars for the final 25%, so I guess 3 stars is a reasonably good rating. I am glad to have this on audiobook though, and I am very glad it was the final part that was so great, because this way I'll keep this book in mind in a positive way.

Lowkey boring- only read it for Liam

I was scared to read this book just because I didn't want this series to end. But it was an amazing ending to a brilliant series!

È stato meraviglioso. E doloroso. Dolorosamente meraviglioso. Non riesco ancora a credere che sia finita. Assolutamente una delle serie migliori mai lette.

“It rained the day they brought us to Thurmond.
And it rained the day I walked out.”

The end of the series is a disappointment however in some ways it's still quite good.
I feel like in this one, there is so much answer to know about in many characters but it seems like there wasn't any time to so it's either the character died or went missing or caught half of the book to ensure to focus on Ruby or just ending the book.
Almost most of the time in the book I was so frustrated with Liam.
We get it, he is angry with Ruby and Cole for like being a team and not including him.
And to solve that frustration it literally took like a chapter to solve that.
Just tell Liam who Cole actually is and Ruby's feelings.
Like come on, I wish they could solve that earlier so we see more involvement in Liam in planning things of getting kids out which was Liam's character goal from the way beginning of the book.
And what's more frustrating what happen to Cole.
Cole character is very fifty-fifty. Its like the way he's character being portrayed is like not trusting if he is good or bad.
I feel so much could be shown from his character if much effort were to put into his story.
Like things between him and Liam. Things between him and what he could do, his past and everything. Getting accomplished his goal.
And right throughout the end with Thurmond. Everything just happens so fast and not so detailed which I wish it was.
Like dude, it was such a big thing every reader waiting for it to happen and it just wasn't detailed enough hence it was a very satisfying read of accomplishment to the end of the story.
I wish they told or made Vi, Chubs, Zu, Liam and Ruby as a team do more things together.
I feel like that's the purpose of the introduction of the team when they travel in the first book and all their friendship.
We do see like snips of things when they work together and fight or talk their feelings out but it was just so plain.
Zu's interview was the cutest thing though.
Bless her she is so adorable.
Likewise, with Cate, her character feels like plays a big part in Ruby's life but at the same time, it feels like it wasn't.
The number of times I shouted KILL CLANCY ALREADY WAS CRAZY.
He is smart though, the best of controlling his abilities.
And all this talk about the Reds but just wasn't wow me enough.
I really do wonder, do they just kill all the orange.
That was such an unsatisfying plotline.

“You gotta stand up and walk, Gem,” he said quietly, turning his back on them. “You have to walk out of here. Not just for them, but for yourself. Come on. You have to walk out of here on your own two feet.”

So I did.”

I'm crying soo much as I'm writing this
