Listen, I know this is not what Kafka was going for, but what I took away from this book is a wonderful allegory for the way disabled people are treated the longer their convalescence gets.

This book was an interesting concept and pretty funny at parts but pretty dated. I enjoyed it enough though exploring the concept of forcing your family to answer the question “would you love me if I was a bug?”
