I never thought I'd hate one of the author's books. This book lacked so many things, no suspense, no thrill, characters' romance was bland, no chemistry. I hated the characters and couldn't get into the story that much. Ivy was by far the worst, self centered, probably stupid, hated her brother because he was more intelligent than her, even the way she talked about her parents at the beginning but suddenly loved her dad at the end and he was a good man after she confessed she was the reason Mateo's mother's business was shut down. I went into this book with high expectations. Mateo was just another meh character, I liked Cal the best and I feel he was the only one with a character development.

I totally hate it when characters romance each other or start catching feelings while investigating. Sometimes Ivy or Mateo would be talking about a clue, then suddenly start thinking of the other person, so annoying but well, I hated them both so they're probably good together.
I just wish there are more murder mysteries without romance.

I loved One Of Us Is Lying. But this.. I don't know what this is.

I have and always will love Karen M. McManus’s books. While currently there are 2 I have yet to read, she will be one of the ones I will always recommend.

That being said, this book was not my favorite as it took me awhile to get into it (I know I say this a lot, but it took longer than normal). If it wasn’t for the audiobook, I probably wouldn’t be that far into it. I really enjoyed the audiobook and recommend using it while reading!

I will say that I had my suspicions about everything and yet every single one turned out either half way wrong or completely wrong! I’ve always been able to guess at least right before the big reveal and the only I was able to guess what the surprise of the last chapter!

another 5/5 for the only karen in this world that is tolerable and likeable.
her books have just become an auto buy for me now - no questions asked. she’s published a new b— already bought. no time to even wonder, it’s already paid for.
read this so quickly too.
i really loved the pacing in this book- how all the action and the drama happened in the course of a day. the detail of the action made u think they’d past months when it was just past lunch.
i loved this one.

Still enjoy these cheesy teen thrillers, but I think Karen should change it up just a bit.
