Pratchett’s books are always enjoyable! I loved the personification of Death in this one and how he and his apprentice both had to figure themselves out.

Pratchett is a wonderfully talented comic writer. Reading his books can consistantly make me laugh and he writes with such witty and colourful skill that it bleeds through in all his characters, giving them all charm and humour. This is the fourth book I've read from Pratchett and also the fourth Discworld novel, and with all that previous praise given I must admit I grow somewhat tired. I've gotten to that point that despite the laughs and hilarious observations, much of what I see now is Pratchett writing a simailair story over and over again just this time with a new coat of paint. It's a damn fine coat of paint mind you, but in the end it's just a new coat of paint on an otherwise, now old, decaying, termite infested, wooden wall.
This book is good, and most likeley if I've read this book earlier, say as my first Pratchett book it would have rated higher. However it's gotten to the point where Pratchett has gotten stale for me, despite how good of a writer he is, I have found his books have gotten formalaic for me.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in comic fantasy fiction, or fans of other discworld books. I just think that for me personally, I've grown tired of Pratchett for the moment, and will need to wait awhile before I return to Discworld.
That wait, might be very long indeed. So until then I will say goodbye to Discworld, or as Death prefers: "Au Revoir"

This is, feels like exactly what this world was created for. Funny and heartfelt, but not too deep or emptional. The end was a little weak, but death is such a compelling character I’m excited to follow.
