Trehan = hot vampire. He listens to his mate, and denies his instinct. Resulting in some questionable actions on his part. But he tries soooo hard with her. Not a single misstep. Until his cloudy judgement of not biting his mate screws it all up for him. But - Battina was so young and naive it was difficult to swallow at times. She thought her best pal cas was it for her. But she didn’t know the difference between friend love and hot vampire love….until she did.

I liked the role Lothaire played. And as most of the books of the series - enough little crumbs are left to make you curious about the next, and to see certain scenes from different perspectives.

Again Trehan is hot, dark, sexy hunky vampire who is smart, logical, and thoughtful mostly. He helps her overcome anxiety and supports her artistic endeavors. Almost perfect.

A solid 4 stars. This book felt very different from her others. Which is slightly amusing, as I thought Lothaire felt different, too. It wasn't as fast-paced, it wasn't as amusing with lots of characters with a lot of wit (not that it didn't have its small amusing characters, but I think the lack of Valkyries and witches in this one lowered the amusement a bit), and it didn't have a lot of travel by the characters, which I feel has been a staple in her others.

I really liked both Bettina and Trehan. I enjoyed that Bettina wasn't amazingly strong for most of the book, but wasn't whiny, and it wasn't the focus of her personality. Trehan was intense, but again, not overly so. I didn't feel like I connected with either of them as much I have with other characters in the past, but they were enjoyable.

I'm dying to find out what happened to Lanthe. I know it probably can't happen, but I want to see her somehow end up with Thronos. A mortal enemy? Somehow, I'm sure Cole would make it perfect. SHE HAD BETTER BE THE NEXT BOOK, you hear me, Ms. Cole? ;-)

Great job, as usual.

This was a good read. Cole pulls out another good story. I think she has written other works better than this one but I am still drawn into the characters and am eager to read the next books in the series.

Rather slow to start, took a while to get into it but since I love the others in this series I kept at it and it was definitely worth the effort. It picked up about the half way point and never let up again. Loved it in the end.

Genuinely cannot emphasize the fact that Trehan desperately needs a better woman.

This man left his HOME for her, gave her everything she needed, defended her honor, and yet, up until the last QUARTER, was undecided on how she felt about him.

On top of that we had the most useless triangle of all time.

This book was a true delight. Bettina was a wonderful change from our regular leading ladies with whom you do not fuck. She was strong in a different way and has an artist's view of the world. Trehan was an intriguing character and worth the read.

I somehow skipped this one while reading the series. I LOVED this hero. Trehan is everything an immortal mate should be: strong, sexy, and completely dedicated to his woman. His heroine...not so much. First she's a doormat, then she's stubborn and kind of an idiot. To be honest, I was okay with her flaws until almost the very end when she was still giving him a hard time about how things turned out. I might be biased in blaming her because of his perfection (in my mind) but there it is. I really didn't like her attitude at the end and was almost annoyed enough not to bother reading the last few pages.

This was my first book by this author. I was a little put off by the female characters in this book. They came in two forms naive, foolish girl to overcompensating and cruel. Also the world building was weak, and I didn't like the juxtaposition of Lore and the Mortal Word. Although i think if I had read the Immortals Series I would be use to it.

I liked the fact that Trehan's main focus is Bettina's pleasure, that was a nice turn around. What world building there was, was interesting. The writing style itself was good. I really like the switch in POV.

Final verdict. I would read more of her books but I don't think I would buy another one new.

5 stars!

“One day you’ll convince me that you’ll always want him.” Just before he traced away, he murmured in her ear, “Take care, lest you lose a male who’ll desire only you—and gain a male who’ll desire only others.”

description

I loved everything about this book...especially Trehan! Damn, he puts all other vampire book boyfriends to SHAME! Sexy, possessive and deadly to others...just perfect!

Normally, I hate love triangles...but with a hero like Trehan, there really is no comparison between him and Caspion!

I'm a huge fan of this series so I wish I liked this one more. The only reason I gave this 3 stars is because I really liked Trehan's character. Bettina was insufferable and the plot overall was just kind of boring.
