I'm very familiar with Ellen Hopkins books, and have thoroughly enjoyed her work in the past.

This book is the final installment in the Crank Trilogy (Crank, Glass, Fallout). Though I thought the book was good, I was not particularly riveted with this story.
Since this is written from the perspective of the meth-addict Kristina's 3 children (where the last two were from her perspective) it got a bit jumbled up in my head while reading. Although Hopkins does a great job distinguishing each character with certain traits, mannerisms and tone, the 3 lives were so frayed and remote from each other that I had to physically draw a character map to keep everybody straight.
Granted, part of that was because Kristina had done so much sleeping around and basically messed it all up, but still I found myself just going through the motions of reading it.

Despite the fact that I was kind of unable to really get into this book whole-heartedly, I did appreciate the intricacies Hopkins worked into the story line. I liked how she displayed the other side of "the monster" and how it affects everyone around the addict in addition to the addict.
I have always enjoyed the prose-like setup of her novels, and the way she makes them read is really thoughtful and visually impacting.

Overall, worthy of a read though not particularly an edge-of-your-seater and a good way to give closure to the very personal story of the impact of methamphetamine on people.

Not Hopkins' best book in my opinion, but it was a satisfying ending to the Crank Trilogy.
