I love Ella and her books I am just not a fantasy fan :( I tried so hard to love this book but for me it was just an ok read.

Some positives:
I loved how strong and cold Audra was and Zad, well he was

"You are a fool, or else you'd have known my destiny has always been and will always be tied to you."

A King So Cold was one of my all-time FAVORITE books so you can probably imagine my excitement for The Stray Prince.

I couldn't have been happier to be reunited with the colorful group of characters!!! I missed my swoonworthy Zad.

Lots of surprises and great HEA

Definitely better than the first book. This one had so many more surprises and a lot more action. I loved it!!

“Just because I loved a male to the point of self-ruination did not mean I’d lose that shard of ice I was born with.”

This book was so, so good. While the first book took me a long time to get into, this book? Oh man it had me hooked from the start. The angst, the tension and the twists and the turns of this book were just so well written.

If I’m being honest, I have a lot more appreciation for the first book after reading this second book. It really set the stage and allowed for such an incredible character arc for not just Audra, but Zadicus as well. I loved that we got to read from Zad’s perspective as well, and while the constant battles in their relationship did get a bit tedious after a while, it really made it so much better any time they made up. My only real complaint about this book was that one of the major turning points just felt so sudden and a bit rushed, I would’ve liked it to be a bit longer of a scene. Or maybe it was just that Audra moved past it so quickly and it was just like “anyways on to the next issue”, but I felt it deserved a bit more attention? Hard to put my finger on it without giving spoilers lol.

Lots of ups and downs, I honestly never had a clue where the story was going and couldn’t predict any of it. I also loved the different creatures in this story, and I think this duet would make a really good movie or tv series. The visuals I got while reading were just so immersive and interesting. I also really enjoyed the writing, and reading from Audra’s perspective was just so interesting and different. She is ruthless and can be cruel, but she’s also very kind and caring buried underneath the cold front. And even as the reader you only see glimpses of the kind and caring side, and they slowly get more frequent throughout the book. It is honestly one of my favourite character arcs of all time, cause while she was less ruthless and cruel at the end of book two, she was still completely herself and she was no less strong by choosing to let her softer parts shine through.

So excited to dive into more books by this author!

I really like this storie!
I was really surprised at the turn of events, but in the best way!

One of the worst books I’ve read this year. So many stupid choices by characters for no real reason, which made me irrationally angry

This book was big on miscommunication ✋

This book is an amazing sequel that introduces us to more of the world in this fantasy world that Ella Fields has created. Filled with magic, fantasy, royalty, action and heartbreak, this is a story that will grip you and make you go through all the emotions.

This book was my most anticipated book of 2021 and oh did it deliver everything I needed and wanted from this book. Queen Audra is one of those characters that you can't help but love and adore because she's so strong and fierce. She flourished in this book and we got more character growth from her which I adore.

In this book, we got to learn more about Zad and his heritage which was so intriguing to read about. The relationship between Zad and Audra is one of my favourites, the tension these two have and the angst in this book, is just too good. These two characters are everything together and they go through a lot in order to ensure their happy ever after. They endured a lot and do endure more so in this story but they come out the other end stronger together.

Lastly, I want to touch on the epilogue of this book because oh my god, my heart melted. Audra and Zad are literal perfection together, they bring out the best in each other. That epilogue was so cute and so soft, I smiled the whole way through. I cant believe we're done with these two characters and their story but here's to hoping we are not done with this world just yet.

If I wasn't afraid of breaking it, I would have thrown my kindle across the room so many times while reading this book. How earth shatteringly mad can one be while reading a book at still loving it? Because that's what reading Stray Prince was like. Audra and Zad are every bit as infuriating in book two. If you thought A King So Cold put you through an emotional rollercoaster.... buckle up for the sequel. This ending to a dizzyingly dark tale, well built world, and complex characters does not disappoint. It's not quite as steamy as book one, but don't you worry it still has plenty of moments! All the emotions. Including laughing out loud at Kash muttering "darkness squash me".

Well I certainly did not expect this story to traverse the worlds it did and take Audra and Zad to unexpected places and heights, but boy did I enjoy it. And all of the struggles made the ending that much more lovely and perfect. What a magical, mystical, sweet, cruel, torturously weaving way to end this tale! And Fields does not disappoint in the passionate encounters and spitfire feuds that enraptured readers in book one. Audra and Zad—I couldn’t get enough! A perfectly delicious and devilishly wicked conclusion!
