This book gripped me from the very beginning. The audio was so so good. Though it was a thriller, I was able to easily guess the ending which made me rate it at a three star. I liked the writing and the storyline. Touched on some hard subjects where you could tell the author could relate through the writing. She really brought out the emotions and loneliness you could feel after a traumatic situation like this. She did this with care and finesse which I appreciated.

Make sure you check trigger warnings because though written with respect and care, the subjects written about could be hard to read for some.

Wasn't in the mood for this story, will return to eventually.

(Audio book) A short read at 4 hrs, but WOW the narration…SUPERB! Definitely for fans of We Need to Talk About Kevin and Saving Noah. This is a book about the relationship between a mother and (how well you know your) child.

Single mom Felicia is a volunteer at a suicide prevention hotline and takes a call from a high school girl (Chloe) that has been drugged and sexually assaulted. She happens to go to the same high school as her son, so Felicia is counseling her while trying to piece together the night of the assault with little input from her son….and you know the twist already. This story line was predictable very early in the book, so thats why it’s a solid 3. The ending does have a WOW factor. As a mom, what would you do??

Narration is SPOT ON, it was almost a radio play since there were two narrators (and since it’s a suicide hotline, one of them was on the phone and you could hear the phone static).

Another gripping and psychologically intense masterpiece by Dr. Lucinda Berry. Her writing is compelling and leaves you thinking long after you've read the last page. When the unimaginable infiltrates her world, a mother is forced to confront the darkest corners of her love and loyalty. How far would you go to shield your children from a nightmare you never saw coming? What if the nightmare was one you'd live yourself. What is family and how far would you go to protect them?

First of all, I just love A.J. Cook’s voice, so I was so excited to know she was one of the narrators. Regarding the story itself, it was great! It kept me second guessing everything. The ending, wow, I was suspicious but was hesitant to believe it was true. Lucinda Berry’s writing is just the best!!
