- dont go into this thinking it's gonna be a mysterious read because it's not
+ what i liked about this was the epilogue, bc it tied the whole story together; it establishes who Felicia is as a mom and a woman; simultaneously, it makes us reflect how we see other moms and how we easily judge mothers for their kids' actions, 'it is always someone's son' as mentioned in the book
- what i did not like about this was that it tried so hard to be a mystery read, when it was so clear who the perpetrator was from the start. it would have been a lot better if it focused on being how bad people are always around us and are sometimes living inside your own house, sometimes even your own kid. that no matter how you tried so hard to nurture your kids, sometimes, you can't really do anything about it; but what matters most is how you handle things after
+ overall i still liked it bc it made me emotional esp towards the end; i was heartbroken for Felicia, she was asking herself what went wrong and how could she do things differently when in fact she is a single mom who tried so hard to give the childhood normalcy her kid deserved; i just wished we could've focused more on these aspects, rather than spending 80% of the book 'guessing' who the perpetrators were when it was so obvious from the start

Such a well done audiobook! Lucinda Berry has a way of just tearing our hearts out and making us so glad that she did.
Yeah…sooo good! And so disturbing! Check the trigger warnings. It was short but it had depth.
