second book for jonah.
These books are super hard for me to review...I feel like just about anything I say is going to be a spoiler, so I guess I will just keep it short and sweet. I absolutely love this series!! This is not a standalone, you must read the previous books before you dive into this one. Burn is a continuation of Jonah and Melanie's story. It picks up right where Melt left off, with Melanie in trouble and Jonah out of touch. We get a few more questions answered, but are left with new questions to leave us hanging. Such a great mystery and romance series!

The suspense continue....
Burn is the 5th book of the Steel Brother Saga. The story continues around Jonah and Melanie solving mystery of Talon's horrific past. And the mystery surrounding Steel family.
I sadly have to say, Melanie does not grow on me. I think she is just feeling sorry for herself a lot in this book. While Jonah is mediocre. I can not feel his intense dark character. To me Jonah is trying to hard to be a good guy to everyone.
Despite the shortcoming, I still curious about the final conclusion of this story.

🎧 Audio Review 🎧
This won't come as a surprise to you if you've been following this series... it's another cliffhanger! This story seems to keep me coming back for more even though I hate cliffhangers. As with the last 4 books this story picks up at the end up the last book. This is one long story but 4-6 are told by a different brother which is kinda fun to get a different perspective but also have the story just keep going with the same secrets and the same basic story line from the beginning.
So far I have LOVED all of these book but I have to say this book found me rolling my eyes a few times. I don't know if it was my mood, the narration or the writing but I had a couple small issues. Johan's story has a little bit of an insta-love feel which I dislike more than cliffhanger and some of the "love scenes" are a little to mushy for this series. Also, there is a sex scene that he says/thinks "I shoved my face into her covered Vulva".... totally made me cringe and the rest of that sex scene was blah for me. Vulva just doesn't belong in a sex scene nor does it belong in a guys POV, IMHO. Besides that I really enjoyed the books and will be waiting for book 6.
Narration... Still not a big fan :(
Now here is the thing, If a male narrator can't do a female voice... he shouldn't because it really takes away from the story. I like Alexander Cendese but I think he should only do duet narration because his female voice makes my skin crawl :( He is great at the male POV so I hate to say he's not a good narrator because that just isn't true. Teri Clark Linden isn't a favorite of mine either, she makes Melanie come across a little flaky with her almost child like voice. I completely agree with a change of narration since from books 1 -3 since books 4-6 are different main characters and deserve their own voices, I just didn't agree with the choice of narrators.

I love this Series and how all the conflicts tie into each other. Ms. Helen Hardy has done a fantastic job telling this tragic story and how it has affected all parties. Can't wait until the final book in Joe's story plus the book coming to tell Ryan's side. Plus they are all finding love and healing along the way.
I couldn't wait to read this after the cliffhanger at the end of Melt! The story continues with Jonah and Melanie trying to figure out what happened with Talon. No spoilers! Just know that you can't read these as standalones. You have to read 1-4 first, starting with Craving as these flow one into the other. Each one keeps taking over the last as my favorite of the series!
