Yuki's angsty backstory plus the ridiculous perfect of the Sorta Cinderella play. This is an ace volume.

The volume started on a downer, but Sorta Cinderella more than made up for it.

Loved the 'Sorta Cinderella'.
Great volume full of angst and then humor.

This time, it’s Yuki’s turn now to have his own flashback way back in the past. I’ve always considered Yuki a fine gentleman. An attractive person that gets him drawn apart from others, this gives him an impression he’s like a majestic prince to marvel on.
What lays underneath his princely form unbeknownst to everyone, is how awfully introverted he is in person. Yuki’s fans are too busy looking through him in rose tinted glasses that they failed to notice something’s off. They simply thought he’s just being modest, but it isn’t how it is for the Rat.
It’s interesting to fit the puzzle pieces together in figuring out why an individual came out the way they are now. In Yuki’s case, his childhood came out as a tragedy. This resulted to Yuki growing distant and incapable of socializing compared to his other relatives.
Not to mention, Akito’s cruel way of discipline did the trick that made Yuki question his self-worth, to the point he’s become so helpless, he doesn’t have anyone to talk to.
His own parents are useless and have no right to take such roles, while his older brother’s fortunately making amends for his shortcomings in the past.
This is an intriguing volume and it’s piqued my interest since the readers are being enlightened by Yuki’s side for a change.
Specifically, this has got to do with the so-called rivalry I thought to come from the Cat and Mouse. This turned out to be much more complicated than that. It’s more difficult whose side I’m on now because of this.
On less serious matters aside, I’m living for the mini reunion a couple of Sohma members and Tohru’s friends had here. It’s amusing to see someone getting riled up themselves, a rare occurrence, if you will. Not to mention, I may or may not have come across potential partners suitable for each other here.

I've heard that the reboot of the anime is going to follow the manga. I can't wait to see Sorta Cinderella acted out.
