Blood Stained Memories by Kathy L. Wheeler is a Gothic Romance Mystery forming part of the A World of Gothic series. This one set in USA.
This story was reminiscent of the film Momento for me, in that Helena Abigail wants and needs to discover the truth behind her fathers death and upon entering into her childhood home she gets flashbacks and memories that return out of order in which she begins to unravel and piece together to eventually lead her to the truth.
I found the characters to be interesting separately but a little flat and disconnected when together, but the story was intriguing and gripping and I loved the mystery of it. It was great solving the mystery along with Helena as her memories were revealed and more evidence was found. I even admit to being on the edge of my seat in the last pages of the book.
I would recommend this story to romance/mystery readers as it is an interesting and unique take on the genre.
