Well, I broke down and tried a CoHo book. I needed to know what the fuss was about. I wasn’t sure which one to begin with, but Ugly Love was available at the library so started with that one. I was not disappointed.

The pace of the story was really good. It kept me interested and there were few lagging moments in the storyline.

As far as characters go, I had a love/hate relationship with Miles. I hated how at times he strung Tate along. I hated how closed off he was. I hated what he was putting Tate through. It was frustrating and at times a little cringey. However, I have also not lived through the kind of heartache that Miles had so who am I to judge on his guardedness.

As far as Tate goes, I liked how she was at least self aware of what was going on. I didn’t like how long it took her to stand up for herself. It definitely shouldn’t have lasted as long as it had.

The chemistry between them was a bit rushed or fast in developing. I liked their witty banter. I kind of wish we had more moments of that, but I know that wasn’t a part of the deal.

If you’re looking for a cozy read with romance and a medium to fast pace, this could be the one for you.

A lot of people recommend this book, but I have no idea why. It was 100% predictable and because the story was too weak to stand on its own, it was filled with soft porn. This is the second of her books I’ve read, and I don’t think I’ll be reading any more of them.

I know this review is going to upset some people but I don't care. This book has me so pissed off. Tate deserves so much better and she should have never gave Miles a second chance. I hope she regrets her decision.

Tate has moved in with her brother Corbin in San Francisco. Tate Collins gets approval from her brother that she can stay with him and eventually find her own apartment when she has the money. Tate knows that she is not here to find love, or waste her life away.... but what happens when she meets Miles Archer. The first day she arrives at her brothers apartment she meets Miles drunk and he is laying in the hallway leaning against his door. Tate's brother is also a pilot as well as everyone in her family. Corbin had met Miles when they had both gone to the same flight school. Corbin is very protective of his sister and he wants what is best for her. Miles and Tate are not just friends. They have agreed that they will NEVER have a future together and will just be fuck buddies when they both want it. Miles is also a co pilot and he pretty much has the same schedule as Corbin. Miles has a rough past and he keeps holding on to it throughout the whole book.

Throughout the whole book, Tate knows that she wants more than just a "friendship" that involves sex. Miles shows her many mixed signals and is scared to admit that he has feelings for her but because of his past, he is NOT capable of loving her and giving her what she wants. Tate is a nurse at the hospital and she works non stop to better her life. It all starts when Corbin ends up inviting Miles to her family Thanksgiving dinner with her family. She is NOT allowed to ask about his past and is NOT allowed to expect a future with Miles. She knows from the start this idea is not a good one and she can't ignore the fact that the whole time he is there he can't keep his hands off her. They are not dating and Corbin eventually finds out that Miles and Tate have been fucking behind his back and Corbin is very upset with his friend Miles. Love is not all pretty and fun right?

Cap has shown Tate that she can love again and that time will takes is course but she has to not rush into it. She wakes up in the middle of the night at her parents house and Miles and Tate agreed that they won't have a relationship and it will just be sex. Miles has sex with her and the  whole time all he thinks about is Rachel who was his first love and got her pregnant when he was 18 years old. He seems proud of that until on tragic moment happens and they both are now suffering the loss of their son. Miles knows he will never be able to share that love with Rachel as she has moved back to Phoenix, Arizona. Has Rachel moved on? Read the book to find out?!!

I will say Miles and Tate do end up getting engaged. Miles eventually ends up pulling his head out of his ass (excuse the language) and realizes that he can't keep holding on the the past and has to move on. He knows that Rachel is now safe and is moved on and married to another man. Rachel is telling him he has to let go and move on. Let love takes it's course pretty much.

I will say Tate should have NEVER gave him a second chance. She deserves so much better and I can't imagine how Corbin will feel even thought Miles promised that he wouldn't break her heart. Miles only wants her for the sex. He never calls or texts her while he is out driving a plane but wants the pussy when he is home and can't be more than 5 minutes from her. After he woke up that night drunk and was watching her sleep he instantly fell in love with her WITHOUT KNOWING her past, or childhood. Corbin was so upset when he found out Miles was fucking his sister. I would have been mad to. Miles knew he was not suppose to be doing things with her and let her focus but no he obviously didn’t care what his best friend said. Best friends don’t do that, let alone go behind and hide things from each other. Yeah fuck this I am not rereading this.

okay okay. it was a *fun* fast read for in between books. now that i know more authors coho isn’t on my top list anymore, but I can still see why she has been before. the book is sad, but hopeful. did touch my feelings (might’ve not helped that it’s 1:30AM that I finished it) anyway I ugly cried at the end and def a recommendation for if you need a fast-paced/ easy-to-read book :)
