An interesting concept for a book to explore both AI and life beyond death and how these could possibly or impossibly interact. A good book to read if you're in the mood for thinking about life in general and what you would do when faced with the situation Nami found herself in at the very beginning of the book.

While this book held promise I feel it didn't quite deliver on the execution side of things. Sometimes Nami's decisions or reasons felt a little flat and two dimmensional, but I appreciate that she stuck to her own set of morals and values throughout the book. The ending caught me off guard with enough plot twists to keep me busy for a week and I am looking forward to reading the sequel.

interesting take on an afterlife, and a non traditional chosen one narrative. had a twist i didn’t see coming, all of the character relationships and development seemed a bit rushed though.

I really liked the premise of the book. It had a really strong beginning and end but it definitely lagged on and off for the majority of the book. I really enjoyed all the existential questions Nami had and how her perspective of her life and purpose framed the narrative. The world building was really cool, but there were a few instances of confusion where it felt more like a fantasy world than an afterlife and it left me wondering if rules were broken. I’m giving this book 4 stars for the moments that really got me invested in the plot and had me rooting for Nami to finally get the good life she deserved.

The MC was so whiny and repetitive. Even with the AI entities wanting to kill the humans in Infinity, she struggles with fighting them. This book could’ve been cut down 20% by getting rid of Nami’s struggle.

The twist at the end would’ve wrecked me had I actually cared about the characters. The relationships lacked substance.

This book killed me. Appropriate since it's set in the afterlife! This book is imperfect (though I wonder if some imperfections would disappear upon a re-read) but I honestly don't care because I loved it. An interesting concept from the start, and I enjoyed every second of reading it. Most books have a slump at some point part way through, but this book didn't. I would give it 4.5/5 but rounded up so all my reviews are round numbers

Thinking about
how interpretation of empathy with oppressors changes between people abused with their family and people abused by their family
how first person narration limits thematic interpretation
and limits minor characters
