My mom read the original Korean text and I read a translated version. The book allowed us to have some really great conversations about mental health and provided a great bonding experience for us. It is mostly transcripts from Baek Sehee's therapy sessions but there were reflections after each chapter talking about what she had learned from her experiences. This made it easier to digest and apply to aspects of my own life. I think it's a good book to get yourself thinking about managing anxiety, interpersonal relationships, and self-love.

I bought this book after the reading the little text on the back, since I myself I’m in a weird case of my life where I’m not doing well but I wouldn’t call it depression. Anyway I expected more?from this book. I just really couldn’t connect with the main character. I did every now and then realise that I myself I’m sometimes making situations worse in my head but I just didn’t enjoy it. I feel like I was expecting to finish the book and be like : wow , this will change my life and help me get better but I didn’t. I also didn’t finish it , I pretty much stopped reading after the page of the therapist. I just didn’t see the point of adding the page about the grandmother, aunt, dogs,…
I think I even regret taking this book and not the other one in the bookstore

While I related deeply to a lot of the sentiments and thoughts approached in this novel, the writing style and use of transcripts really diminshed a lot of the book's value, especially its readability.
I'm glad I read this book but I wouldn't recommend it.
