Another great book by Alice Oseman. Really enjoyed it. It was very emotional to follow along with Georgia’s journey to self-acceptance, and I loved her little found family. Rooney and Sunil were precious. I teared up at the scene with Rooney and Georgia by the river bridge.

I just couldn’t get myself to like the Pip-Rooney dynamic. I found it really annoying, and a little too over the top. I personally just didn’t like Pip as a character all that much.

This is such beautiful ace aro representation, I had to force myself to put the book down to sleep at night, it was so captivating.
I feel understood by this book and could relate to many things. I am so happy I read this during ace awareness week as well, truly my personal highlight this year!

Is it really a good book if it doesn't give you a sexuality crisis? No. I can safely this is a very good book. I felt seen and accepted by the words of this story. Beautiful.

I struggled a bit with Loveless because I found the way Georgia uses Jason deeply uncomfortable and difficult to empathise with as an ace person myself. I strongly disagree with criticisms I've seen that the book is sex-negative but I do think the inclusion of a sex or romance favourable ace/aro character would have helped divorce discussions of aspec identity from sex/romance aversion which would have been nice to see.

One thing I find strange is that for me the way Georgia and Rooney's relationship develops into this great "plamance" if you will, almost a becoming a QPR, just didn't connect with me as I felt it should have - I felt that Georgia's idolisation of Rooney keeps her at quite a distance until all of a sudden they're devoting themselves to each other platonically and it didn't quite hit right for me. I find it strange because Aled and Frances of Radio Silence have a similar platonic relationship but the way Alice wrote that was nothing short of brilliant to me... I think perhaps this is a me thing that would be sorted out with a reread since I was very tired reading Loveless in a car
