this book was very good. very well written. i related a lot to Georgia’s descriptions of asexuality but also very much appreciated the aro rep too. i think Alice Oseman’s writing really conveyed the feeling of the process of figuring out your LGBTQIA+ identity through confusion, self hatred, denial and sadness.
i also really loved how the book showed that love isn’t just a romantic thing, but can also absolutely and very much be a platonic thing which is just as strong and just as meaningful, if not more so. it also showed the importance of friendships and how romance can get in the way of these.
this book was also v gay which i appreciated, very much recommended for anyone questioning/figuring out their identity or already identifying as queer (tho please read the content warnings as always!!)

it was EHHHHH it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be but it also wasnt great. too coming of age for my particular taste and said that it was too preachy, but I think it does serve as a good entry into the aromantic/asexual identity so i get why its so well regarded. the MC was just kind of annoying and I wrote that shes has "no back bone" and idk it was definitely a story that had me invested and hooked, considering i read in one day but it was fine. i just wish there were other popular a-spec books because i dont want something that borderline mediocre to be the magna carta of our community

fun little YA about finding out you’re ace and also starting university and friendships. There were little things i could be persnickety about but I don’t feel like it because overall I had a nice time reading this.

I really loved this book! I loved the story of the platonic love and the last scene in Part Four I had to take a picture of a show to my best friend because it is so utterly beautiful. I do feel like there were a few parts (one specifically) that were not used to their full potential. Specifically, Sunil goes by he/they pronouns but everyone exclusively uses “he” for the duration of the story, even Georgia. It would’ve been nice to see, even in the prose, Georgia use the pronoun “they” when referring to Sunil. I found that very distracting for the whole plot because it almost seemed like a throw in blink and you’ll miss it reference to Sunil’s pronouns. Other than that it was a fantastic story!

Definitely one of my new favorites.  This book was amazing.  It was so relatable and I was not expecting that.  All the characters were detailed and lovely to read about.  Following not only Georgia but her friends finding themselves was something I didn’t even know I needed to read.

As someone who thrives off of fanfiction, I loved all the comments about fanfics so much.

The humor was great and the more serious moments were done really well.  I just really loved this book.  The friendships were beautiful.  It really showed you didn’t need a romantic, you could have platonic relationships and that is that.

Strongly suggest this for anyone who wants a lighthearted read with a happy ending, someone who might be in or questioning the ace community, people who want a realistic and relatable read that has amazing platonic relationships.

Cute predictable fluff and longer than it really needed to be. Also a character has he/they pronouns and is only ever referred to as he (by main character internal monologue and other characters)
