I had the audacity to think I may be the exception to the rule and not be called out by Georgia. I was wrong. I also had the audacity to wait over a year to read this book. That was a mistake. I loved this book.

This books has great storyline  focuses on important topics like love, friendship and creates more awareness of asexual and aromatic identities. Although I don't identify with the main terms, I was still able to resonate with the main lead e.g. feeling left behind. I was also able to sense characters emotions and envision scenes. It is also the only book I have read which continues on what happened into the previous chapter into the next chapter, I haven't seen this sort of writing style before...and I like it..it is different.

fantastic aro ace and general queer rep. beautiful friendship and found family dynamics, which are rarely the main focus of a story in the way they are here. pacing was a bit slow at times and the first half felt extremely repetitive, but the second half was so authentic and touching that it made up for it.

The narration by Elisabeth Hopper was top-tier, I've never listened to a better audiobook! This book gave me such warm and cozy feelings, like being cocooned in a giant blanket with tea (or hot chocolate, for Georgia).

Of course the book was also painfully YA with its predictable conflicts, obvious situations and perfect endings, but despite the lack of richness in plot the story filled its purpose well. I totally understand why this book would be important to many (and hell, its inclusivity is SO FUCKING IMPORTANT), I found several things relatable as well (from being a first-year uni-student to the questions about sexuality).

thank you to both Alice Oseman and Elisabeth Hopper for this experience! I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it this much as a physical book as I would've had to concentrate more, but just like this it succeeded at filling a hole of some kind (not a vagina, Georgia).
