This was a pretty entertaining read. Ever since the last book I was waiting to be able to pick this one up, I really wanted to know how Stacy and Pashov would handle pashov's injury and memory loss. And it definitely didn't disappoint.

I felt all the emotions with them. I hated that they had to deal with him not remembering their entire time together. They're one of the sweetest couples and I just wanted them to be happy again. It was interesting to see how they reconnect and come together again. I was hoping right along with them that his memories would resurface. <Spoiler>And it made me so happy to see him getting little snippets of them here and there but also really frustrating when they'd be gone just as fast as they came. By the end we get to see that his memories are slowly coming back even if they're not as fast as everyone would want them to.

It was also great seeing a more in depth view into everyone's new home and to see how quickly the tribe are able get back on their feet with such a small space of time left before the brutal season hit them.

Overall this was a sweet and very easy read. There wasn't a lot of action in this one, just everyone finding their way again and coming together in a new and better way.

As a serious Ice Planet fan, I’ve read this book at least four times now, probably more. Unfortunately, I like it less each time. Stacy is such a bad partner to Pashov. He has suffered a life threatening head injury and is missing several years of his memories, and she’s upset with him because he can’t just pop back to his pre-injury self. Instead of helping him recover and adjust to his new reality, she decides to withhold herself—and their son!— until he goes back to the way he was before, as if he had any control over the process. Weirdly, other members of the tribe also seem to blame Pashov for the distance between them, with many people chiding him to try harder and absolutely no one pointing out to Stacy that her icing him out is wildly unfair and counterproductive to helping him recover his memories, if that’s possible. I did like the interaction with the metlaks—I’m fascinated by them—and consider them the highlight of the book.

I thought this was really sweet. I definitely felt the main ‘conflict’ went back and forth a bit too much but otherwise it was lovely.

I honestly feel bad for Pashev. Stacy is a terrible, emotional, scaredy-cat, annoying person. I am just about done with my audiobook and I kinda can’t wait for it to be over. Nice that the tribe is at the new living quarters though. Yay for toilets.

Really loved this one a lot! It is one of the more sadder ones. I’m very curious as to how the rest of the books are going to be like at this point.
