If this book is an indicator of the author’s works to come, I’m excited to see them! The second chance dynamic set up from the first scene had the tension perfectly building throughout the whole thing. Though I wish we had some more indicators of what these characters had in common, I do see the charm in the grumpy/sunshine dynamic for Nash and Violet as a balance. The author handled the more emotional scenes of this book with great care and attention, really helping us understand the pain and healing of these characters. Overall, maybe my favorite work of her’s so far. Keeping an eye out for her upcoming expected 2024 releases!
My only request would have been for even more spice in the spicy scenes! After building up so much storytelling around their kinky sex, and as a kinky person, the scenes were still pretty tame after waiting so long to see them. Their chemistry was sooooo good though so not any major complaints, really!

The premise of this book was amazing. Second chance college hockey romance? Sold. Except there wasn't a lot of push back from the FMC to getting back with her ex. They glossed over what broke them up in the first place and I just felt like it definitely needed more depth.

loved the tension and was quite cute, but it was a bit cringe at times and i wish we heard a bit more about their relationship in the past, as it felt like we were missing a lot of details from then.

It was cringy and entirely way too long than it needed to be. That’s it.

This was not good but I couldn’t put it down?? And I have a lot to say.

I feel like fans of Lauren Asher would like this book. The story was fast and fun and there was lots of tension, it just wasn’t very well written or put together.

This could’ve been a solid 3 star read if not for some prominent issues (for me).

The writing was immature, repetitive, and just not very good. I’ve never read the words “shoulder check” in reference to driving so many times. It was also a tad too cheesy. The weird wording definitely took me out of the story. Petal is an awful nickname. And the pacing was off.

This book had fatphobia galore; the negative self body talk really fucking sucked and took me out of the story every time it was completely unnecessary and irrelevant. Also a bit classist sometimes, more so than other books like this.

I also do not believe the author really knew what they were writing about, which I feel like I should’ve expected, but it took me out of the story as well.

Super easy but emotional read, and the spice is definitely there (even though it’s more tame than the beginning would lead you to believe, see previous paragraph).

And yet, I think I might continue on in the series.

CW: fatphobia, parental death, physical and emotional abuse, car crash
