Wow, one of the strangest books I've read. I'm normally not very squeamish but there were definitely a few moments that got to me. However, I really did enjoy the book and kept returning to it. Overall, a challenging but rewarding read.

Very sad and dark but masterful writing. This book perfectly captures the way children perceive sad events, the strange logic they create to explain things they don’t understand; the way they handle grief and trauma. The author has written poetry previous to this novel and you can feel the poet’s attention to detail and perfectly curated images here.
