Had to read it for school, was kind of hard to get into the style since it was my first English book set in this period with this choice of wording. The story was heartbreaking but so enlightening. I had no idea how bad it was in SA during apartheid but am glad to have learned about it with this book.

Interesting concept, important topic, sad premise, didn't enjoy the tone of the book (victim-blaming).
A glossary would have been helpful.
