Better than The Exile. Did not drag as much. Warning: cliffhanger at the end. I think he has another book in store.

Reviewed this for our newspaper last year and I was a bit turned off by its "ugh" factor. It was just kind of sadistic, really.

"Former LAPD Detective Nichola Marten's investigation into the murder of his former girlfriend leads him across the globe and to a chance meeting with US President John Henry Harris. But President Harris is on the run from a murderous cabal." (From Amazon)
This novel is all over the place and I think just needed better editing. I will not be continuing the series or with author.

A thriller about a coven of high powered people wanting to take over the world. It would make a good TV movie with its twists, action and neat plot coming together at the end.

This was a fun book to read. A little slow at the start but the action picks up and there are enough twists to keep you wanting to read more.

This was the September selection for my new book club. It turns out it was recommended to one of the group members by her dentist. Which makes sense. In a way.
This thriller is a bit unbelievable, but a fun read none the less. I felt like the editing left a little to be desired. There were several typos and I prefer a cleaner, tighter narrative style - this book had lots and lots and lots of recaps and reiterations. But all in all, it was a solid international, political thriller. Very much in the same vein as some of Dan Brown's work with secret groups and conspiracy theories galore.

Fast-paced thriller, kept me up for way to long at night. For my personal taste it was a bit too gruesome in the violence and gore department, though I must admit I'm not used to much. Won't read the other books in the series for that reason, but I enjoyed it for what it was.
Moderate: Torture, Kidnapping, Injury/Injury detail, Gore, Murder, Blood, Violence, Death of parent, Death, and Gun violence

I wanted to give this book 2 1/2 stars but it won't let me. 2 stars is a bit low but 3 stars is too high. Anyways, this book was really slow to pick up but about halfway through, it did live up to the review on the back that reading it was like watching 24. But overall, it just didn't grab me and the characters were too undeveloped to engage my interest or sympathy.
