This book is amazing. The writing is superb. You cannot miss a single word. The WWII/Holocaust story is told from a fresh perspective. It maintains the strong emotions always involved in Holocaust novels and adds humor and love.

I listened to the audio book version of this because my library didn’t have any physical copies available, and I absolutely loved the narrator! Of course the book itself was amazing but I just really enjoyed the audiobook experience, which is a fairly uncommon occurrence for me, so I thought I’d make note of that.

This book is so unique. I absolutely love reading this from the perspective of Death. There are plenty of historical fiction books out there but this one just provides such a different view point. The pacing, character development, unapologetic shock of this book were just a few things that made this a five star read. I also appreciate how the chapters are very short - "One more chapter" is ultimately 10-12!
