God's Mean Older Brother. Great premise for a book, right? In true biblical style, you have to take some leaps of faith to get there. These are the scriptures according to G. Arthur Brown. He does an admirable job exposing the premise and getting you to buy in.

The story is very original. You don't get hit over the head with theology but instead, the author is playful with the existing theology. Not only does he toy around with theology, he also cleverly manipulates science and quantum mechanics into the whole shit 'n shebang.

Still, something was missing. I struggled to put my finger on it throughout the book. I *think* where things fell shy of greatness was in character development. Specifically the titular character of God's Older Brother. I don't feel like I knew enough about him to embrace his role as the antagonist. While the protagonist, God, was thoroughly fleshed out, he kinda lack a true yang to his yin.

But that's just my experience with the book. My first foray into a full length G. Arthur Brown book. I'd only read his flash pieces and shirt stories prior. Overall it's a unique, enjoyable book. Quality Bizarro, no doubt.
