I really love how this author writes romance, they feel real and yet magical. I love the characters, I love the slow build, and I love the plot. Acquaintances to enemies to friends to lovers.

This book was a very surprising read, in a good way. This centers around our heroine with psychic abilities who struggles to become a foster parent, and our hero who has no interest in being a family man but is then tasked to be the guardian of his sister.
I was quite wary of the story as it involves kids, but this book didn't let me down. I was so glad that hero's sister's presence wasn't used as a mere prop. She was integrated in a way that I didn't have a hard time feeling for her and her struggles.
Romance wise, I admit I found the beginning quite slow. But then slow burn started to burn and I have to say, it burned so bright and hot. I feel like this book did a fantastic job in executing the enemies to friends to lovers trope, if I were to go by how the romance played out at the end.
Also, as bold a statement as it may be, this book has one of the best intimate scenes that I've ever read. The first time the hero and heroine got together wasn't only just smut, it was pure intimacy. It lasted for two chapters, longer than what I'm used to, but I savored every word.
This book cemented the fact that, yes, I am addicted to this author's writing; and yes, I will continue reading from them. Highly recommended for those looking for a slow burn, emotional, read that doesn't really follow the conventional romance plot formula.
