I had to skip chapter 1

I could not get into this book to start with. Before I DNF’d it I went to chapter 2. I am glad I did. I was able to get into and got invested in the world of this book.

I liked Tara and James. I always wish I could see them together on dates and stuff in the book.

What caught me by surprise and sometimes lost is there are multiple POV. I usually love that but this book had 4 of them. The moms, James and Tara.

This book was an easy read, took less than a day. Light hearted and ends happily.

I felt a little lackluster about this one

I didn’t love this book as much as the first one. I’d probably rate it a 3.5 stars. One of the things that disappointed me about it is the dialogue with the mothers. I didn’t find it as entertaining or necessary. It didn’t feel like it enhanced the plot most of the time. Especially Gwen. Don’t get me wrong I’m super glad she found love with Billy but it felt like it actually deterred the story from its course.
It was a cute story but I just didn’t really get into it. Even looking back it’s a pretty simple plot without a lot happening. Tara is hiding, using a different name. Here and James call a truce pretty quickly after the book starts. Reporters find her and she wants James to be her pretend boyfriend. It went on like that for most of the book. The best part is when she FINALLY stopped feeling sorry for herself, took her life and the publicity in her own hands and made it work for her. I appreciated that part of the book. Because I felt so lack luster about this one though I might take a little break from the series.

I don't feel like this novel needed 52 chapters. It's a simple enemies-to-lovers celebrities story. I'm all about the drama and all around trouble in a story. However this had to many. The press, the ex and and the mean girl antics would have been enough alone but all that together with a fake relationship from enemies to friends to lover.
Also the moms Interfering.. I had a hard time keeping up with all the angles and people in this looonng romance.

A miss for me sorry

I did like the body positivity that was portrayed throughout the book.

I adored this cute little romance, it was a quick, sweet read. As a former model, I loved the node to the modeling industry and the unrealistic standards placed upon most models. The story made me smile and I can't wait to read the rest of this series... Starting with book one since I didn't realize I was reading the second one until the end.

Just goes to show, you don't need to read this series in order to adore it!

Everyone hated it when their mother play matchmaker and James hates being set up with his mother’s new pastry chef, Tara. But Tara has a secret that most the town doesn’t know. She was once a famous model who recently broke up a engagement with a megastar.

This was a whirlwind of a book and I held tight the entire time. It was fantastic for a start. Whitney Dineen keeps the reader interested throughout and it is hilarious watching the two not want to be together but clearly thinking about it. I love how you get the two perspectives plus the meddling mothers’ POV on what is going on. The twist and turns of this sequel keeps you whirling and it honestly just makes you not want to put this down.

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me an arc of Ain’t She Sweet.

For some reason, I had a hard time engaging with the middle of this book. But I absolutely loved the beginning and the end.

Watching James and Tara's relationship grow was very natural. Nothing felt super forced and everything flowed together very well. I loved that Tara's mom also found happiness.

I would like to see a spin off where Romaine finds the girl he is meant to be with.
