not as good as the appeal. feels short n rushed

Great novella for a quick read, had a lot of fun reading/listening to it. The audiobook cast was incredible. It’s got a lot for fans of the original, but doesn’t rely on its fame. I do like that the mystery isn’t a typical murder, so it feels fresh.

3.5! Cute mystery Christmas novella which reminded me a lot of a Midsomer Murders episode. A body discovered during a Christmas Panto put on by community theatre, told entirely through emails, texts, articles. Liked it but wasn’t memorable!
medium-paced

Cleverly constructed, not especially gripping. Might be better if you've read The Appeal; this seemed to be a sort of sequel to that.

This one was really disappointing compared to the first Appeal. The mystery was lackluster and it felt unfinished. Which for some reason is what I usually think of novellas
