cute little murder mystery that has a unique format with texts and interviews and emails. nothing special though
I absolutely love Janice Hallett’s style of writing and this book was another excellent 5 star addition!
The story is told via emails, texts and what’s app messages.
A retired QC gives his students a case to look over involving a local amateur dramatics group, a Christmas panto and a dead Santa!
It was great to catch up with the Fairway Players once again with a few new additions, having absolutely loved the Appeal.
Although this is a shorter book, I devoured it in under 2 days! The characters are so well written.. some endearing, some annoying (in a good way!) and some just damn right hilarious! Sarah-Jane and Kevin are brilliant!
This is a great, light hearted Christmas read with lots of fun and laughter… even with a death chucked in.
I literally can’t wait to read her next instalment of the Fairway Players…. Please do another one!!

Despite having never seen a panto in my life, I thoroughly enjoyed this silly cosy crime story and a dead Santa on stage hidden in a beanstalk.

This short book is perfect for the readers that had never read a book by Janice Hallett. She uses multiple media format and it takes a little time to get use to it.
The book is about a panto play. This an English tradition and is usually an exaggerated performance of a play. In this case is Jack and the beanstalk.

Fun, quirky semi-Christmas-themed murder mystery novella. It follows "The Appeal" by the same author (liked that one a lot!), with many of the same characters that we know already, but I do think this could be read as a standalone without needing prior knowledge of the characters. I really like the formatting; it's like getting to play detective while reading the characters' emails, text messages, newspaper articles, etc. Very quick read, and now I want to get back into this author's other books.
I liked how the audiobook book was done, but I would have liked more mysteries!!!
