Just finished rereading this and I hate CC for being able to leave me sobbing all over again. The ending is one of the most emotionally, heart wrenching endings of a book ever. This series is one of the rare few thats both character and plot driven. Highly engaging world-building, action, adventure, romance, mystery and suspense.

After the ending this book I was dead. Why do you do this to me with that unexpected plot twist😭. Also to make things worse the next book doesn't come out till 2019. Like why?????! 😭

that being said, as always, the characters shone and their respective bonds with their love interests and others was exhilarating to experience.
apart from that, the plot was well paced and all, but it dwindled in the middle.

Wanted to finally get to the end of the trilogy so reread this one and Lady Midnight. Clare writes heart achingly love stories so well and this one is no different. A bit slow in the middle but the last 1/3 really pick up. Tragedy befalls the family and the characters time and time again, and though they don’t always deal with it realistically, your heart goes out to them. I’ve been reading from this world since I was a teenager and how fleshed out it has gotten thrills me!
