First Wharton novel. Slightly underwhelming and predictable. I enjoyed attention Wharton pays to writing dialect speech. I don't have much else nice to say so I'm not gonna say it at all.

I don't understand what makes some books classics and others not qualified. This was okay but frankly, I don't think it was anything particularly special...

Not a book I chose, but it was interesting. Not sure that I would have chosen it on my own.

My first Wharton? Wow. I love the writing style, and yelling at the ill-advised actions of protagonists.

am i supposed to feel sorry for this bitch?

Very boring. I would not have read it if I wasn’t doing book bingo. Although chapter 9 was interesting.

It was not a pleasant book, but pleasantly short. It was sad, but I like her writing, though I prefer Cather. I will continue to read more of her though.
