Not good. Serilda is such a weak main character. Gild is so YOUNG. The Erlking is soooo much older and wiser and immortal. There was a massive buildup to a very minor ending. Idk

This book was so much better than the first in the series. As much as i enjoyed Gilded, so much happened in this book. Did i predict most of it? Yes! But did i enjoy it? HELL YES! This author did an amazing job of tying up the story lines in this book. That last 25% did indeed make me cry.

Cursed is the second book of the Gilded series-duology, and it follows up straight after where things were left off in the first book. Here we got Serilda, pregnant with Gild's child, being forced to marry the evil king, while trying to comfort and protect the spirits of the murdered children.

Just like with the first book, my main problem with this one was its length. The story went on and on and on, getting tiring to read and boring to follow after a while. Also, in the first half at least, the book tended to repeat over and over again the same thing in a different way: that Serilda had to find a way to leave and tell Gild about the child, but she couldn't because she also had to save the children. So, all that made me think that the book needed for some reason to be 482, thus having the story stretched out necessarily.

But, at least we get some background on Gild, more information on the gods, and some insight into the hunt.

Still, a lot of things would have been easily resolved if the heroes at least talked to each other.

The ending, finally, was cheesy.

This duology should have been one book.
