Wow, I’ve had this on my tbr for ages.
A first was a little hard to follow but then I was hooked!
Found it all really well done. A little anticlimactic and tad predictable at the end but I think an appropriate ending

Found the medical inaccuracies frustrating (MMR/meningitis!) and the characters annoying.

Vaccines are always such a volatile issue. Even more so with covid around.

Andrew Wakefield destroyed confidence with his lies decades ago, and no amount of studies seems to undo that.

But should we have a choice? Do we have a duty to protect others?

Two families are torn apart by vaccine choices and expectations. Should you follow your heart, or science?

The subject is handled in a sensitive way, looking at all the angles, leaving me feeling like it remains unanswered, but that that's how it should be.

Rather too long and badly written but thought provoking nonetheless.

Cliched theme and sounds all too political coming from someone who remembers the height of the vaccine crisis during COVID-19. However, the novel was written very well, gripping even. The conclusion was not as satisfying as I would have hoped, somewhat rushed and shorter than expected, but I was engaged throughout the novel and appreciated the author's nuance.

As a reader I was led to empathise with both narratives of each mother in the book, which I much prefer over "one is clearly right and the other clearly wrong" tropes. Quite a quick read too. Managed to sit down and finish about 100+ pages in a sitting (which is unusual of a slow reader like myself).

Would recommend 👍
