This is so far from what I usually read but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It also had me thinking about something I don't think I've thought about for more than 5 mins. When I was getting covid vaccinated I dont think it even occurred to me or my family once not to do it...
That's why reading this I found it so difficult to understand Bryony's view. It's one thing to believe your mum when you're a little kid but to grow up and not look into it deeper... My mum says some outrageous things but after a certain age you just learn to take things w a pinch of salt. I actually struggled to feel sympathy for her eventhough what she was going through was soo incredibly tough and at most points, unjustified.
That being said, this book really opened my eyes up to perspectives I've never thought about or experienced. The twist at the end really iterated to me how fucking difficult being a mother is. You have to think so deeply about your child and every decision you make. The choices Bryony made were really difficult.
What a book about beautiful female friendship and motherhood. Loved it and would defo recommend to everyone!

Easy to read 'chick lit' covering vaccination issues. Quite interesting themes and perspectives, characters and settings. Ending was a little underwhelming but overall a good read.

I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would, if I had known what it was going to be about I probably wouldn't have picked it up to read, a book about vaccinations wouldn't have interested me. I have to admit although I didn't like the two main characters, the storyline flowed and you are interested in the two sides of the subject. Of course the book could only end with one outcome. The book covers two very close friends who have very different opinions on vaccinations for different reasons. It's interesting and poses a lot of questions. I have to admit I liked it!

The Herd was a five star story for me. I really enjoyed how all of the characters had different personalities and opinions. I also liked how their opinions and beliefs changed throughout the book even if it was only slightly.
There were a lot of secrets and twists especially near the end which kept it interesting in my opinion. That twist left me absolutely flabbergasted and I never saw it coming whatsoever.
I can’t wait to see what Emily writes next.
