It’s been a while since I stayed up so late at night to find out how a book ended. I was obsessed with Lisa Jewell’s writing and ate it all up. I was cringing over how awful Josie is but in the way we all should over someone so dark and conniving. The ending left me scratching my head a bit. I personally think she could have left it at the first twist because the ending planted a seed of doubt and really left me confused more than anything, almost as if she was setting it up for a sequel. Not sure. Overall, very good and would recommend.

Another solid read by Lisa! This audiobook was so good, I highly recommend. The story was wild, and while I felt the end lacked a touch, it was still very twisty and left me scratching my head a little bit. It's definitely one of those leaving you asking "who do you believe?" Loved it!

honestly, the title itself is basically a spoiler. so… that’s an interesting decision…
because of this, the plot was not incredibly surprising and the plot twists were extremely mild/predictable… BUT all of it was unsettling and i enjoyed the vibe. i loved the documentary/podcast aspect of the book!
not a bad way to start spooky season. i’m very harsh on thrillers (i’m sorry!!) so a thriller above 3 stars is a winner in my book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book and the full cast + sound design. I wish I would have binged it more, rather than only listen while I did chores because I think if I didn’t have the time between readings I wouldn’t have guessed the ending. However, I did think about this story a lot and the ending became somewhat predictable to me.
Josie and Alix, with all our important side characters, weave together a twisty true crime story in front of our eyes. I loved how the information all came together, and the interspersed Netflix “clips”. It truly felt like I was listening to a real podcast rather than an audiobook! It was a thrilling character study, and makes you second guess who you may bring into your life…
Overall I really liked this Lisa Jewell novel and I am excited to check out her other work. Turning me into a mystery/thriller fan!
