3.5/5 - I sped through this book quite quickly. I was simultaneously intrigued and disturbed. I liked the unique writing style with the two POVs, the podcast, and the Netflix documentary sequences interspersed. The book was dark and had intense themes. I didn’t necessarily like the ending, which left some of the plot open to interpretation. I personally would have preferred a more cut and dry ending, but that’s a personal preference. It kept me engaged, but I don’t think I would read again. Need a lighter read after this one.

It was really good, but I wouldn’t recommend it, at least not without a full list of trigger warnings😅

The audiobook though 👏🏻so good👏🏻 one of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to! The voice actors gave it there all and really sold me the story, so much so that it felt real

My only problem with this book is that it didn’t quite stick the landing. The alternating perspectives of the original timeline and the podcast worked really well, and pulled me in. Having the before and after perspective built tension and kept focus even during slower parts of the story. So for the climax of the story to be told largely off-page felt a little off. I also think (and a lot of thrillers fall into this trap) that the author valued plot twists over a completely coherent plot. Both were subtle—the twists and the inconsistencies—but they both detract from each other. I sort of wish that we’d been able to get a little more into Josie’s headspace as well, though that would’ve perhaps ruined some of the twists.

Wow, what a thriller. I demolished this book in a few days, I could not stop reading chapter after chapter into the wee hours of the morning, wanting to know what happened next. Okay... Onto the backlog of Lisa Jewell, I can't wait.

in spite of the title being "none of this is true" i was still shocked when the "truth" came out. I think the last chapter was meant to sort of make you wonder maybe she was telling the truth but i dont think so. I definitely did not believe a word of what she said at the end. Wow what a trip though. Super dark. Like an episode of SVU or Snapped but cranked all the way up. I wouldnt say i "liked" this book but it was extremely captivating. People keep saying "the twist" but I didn't really feel like there was one. I was suspicious of Josie very early on so finding out shes crazy wasnt a shock. It was more of a question of okay how crazy is she.
