I loved this book. A nice end to a funny and witty trilogy. The books were the same as the 3 original movies: the 2nd book (and movie) is the best. These books are for Star Wars fans that are also bookworms. I'm definitely buying the trilogy!!!

Awesome finish to the series. I do feel like the others might have been slightly better but only slightly. The ending was great.

Just as good as the other two. I loved the humor, the action, the romance, absolutely everything about it. I would pay so much money to see this live. That would be amazing!

Return of the Jedi always has been and always will be my favorite of the original Star Wars movies, and this was easily my favorite of the William Shakespeare’s Star Wars (though all are gems, just like their main source materials). Not only did I love the lighthearted elements (like how Han’s dialogue sounds adapted into Shakespeare’s style, or pidgin-English-like Ewok dialogue), but I greatly appreciated the depth and heart Doescher injected into some of the scenes. Vader’s soliloquy as he chooses to save his son rather than serve his emperor, the dialogue Anakin shares with Luke in his last moments, and Luke’s soliloquy at the funeral pyre in particular were just stellar. They add so much weight and feeling that can be hard to detect if you’re simply watching the movie. So that was a nice surprise.
I approached these strictly for the entertainment value, and I stayed for the expert craftsmanship that went into them. How good do you have to be to take not only one of sci-fi’s most beloved tales AND one of literature’s most well-known styles and combine them in a way that works well and makes perfect sense? Doescher put so much work into making these books pieces of poetry that honor both Star Wars and Shakespeare. Masterful work, sir. I tip my hat.

The final volume of William Shakespeare's Star Wars gives readers a fine iambic conclusion, in which Luke, that is nam'd Skywalker, faces his foe and father; Leia is cas'd in steel of skimpy design; and Solo is no longer solo.
I've really enjoyed these books. The structure of the original Star Wars trilogy is basically Shakespearean; all that was missing was the language, which Ian Doescher has amply supplied. Personally, I think these should be taught alongside Shakespeare in high school English classes; it'd give kids who think they can't understand Shakespeare something to hang their hats on, as it were.

It’s my favorite movie made Shakespearean so it’s hard to go wrong! I like how the author makes fun of Kenobi’s “certain point of view” line and Luke and Leia’s connection is given more depth as well. Unfortunately, they still have the stupid gag of the bad guys going “gee it would suck if we got beat up by people with sticks. Hyuck hyuck hyuck.” Overall though, good stuff. The author of these even says Return of the Jedi is his favorite movie. My man!
