This is a cute little cozy mystery...just pure entertainment. The writer is pretty funny and she has created characters that are engaging. When you are in the mood for something light, this might be it!
I so was not expecting to love this book so much. I figured I would enjoy it but oh man THIS WAS AWESOME! This book has ghosts, crazy families, humor, mystery and just the right amount of sexual tension. I laughed out loud in this book so much I scared my cat that was sleeping on me. I cried at the end but only because of some really good parts. I can't wait for more of these. I loved LOVED LOVED LOVED this!
Funny and unique. Didn't give it 5 stars because it took me a little to get into, but once I did really enjoyed it. Kitty French is a hilarious writer, and the characters are brilliant to get your teeth into. I have read Undertaking Love by the same author, and I enjoyed that too. I shall be buying and reviewing Melody book 2 when it comes out.

Rating 2.5
I received this book through netgalley but, opinions and ideas about the book are all my own.
For starters, I do want to mention that this book can be rather funny. The concept of the book - Woman who can see ghosts - may not seem like it but, Melody and her friend Marina are quite the hoot! The dialogue is really great in the book and many times I found myself laughing out loud.
So, the characters were great and enjoyable albeit, not always believable. Then again, that is one of the parts that makes the book so quirky and fun. This isn't a serious read. This is meant for fun and laidback reading.
The love interests were introduced as well, Leo and Fletch. Personally, I'm rooting for Fletch-- they've got hurdles to overcome but, it could happen. Leo on the other hand seems like a choice that will never happen :/ so, perhaps that will change in up coming books or he will just be there for drama.
You might be wondering why I've rated this review so low. Well, it comes down to... how bored I was. Gushing over guys is great but, sometimes it would go for a while or her daydreams. There were pages I skipped just to get the book moving along and I didn't miss anything plot-wise. Between 12-54% I really wanted to drop it but, I pushed on because of the concept -- female ghosthunters lol. At 55% I decided I was already too invested and just needed to finish so I had closure (and maybe see what would go on with Fletch ;) ).
This is on my 'try again later' list so, maybe next time I will like it more. As a huge fun of fun quirky books maybe I just didn't come at this one at the right time.
I recommend this book for those you like quirky, much like the Stephanie Plum series. If you like sass and females taking charge-- give this a try. If you like mysteries or people finding themselves and getting on their feet-- maybe try this? with caution.

*I received an ARC from netgalley in exchange for a review*
Kitty French has taken us in a new direction with this story but fans of hers will not be disappointed.
Melody decides to set up her own ghost busting agency and with the help of her best friend and an unexpected 3rd member of the gang she embarks upon solving her first case. Along the way she comes up against her ex, who is also in the business, and the hot reporter who is determined to prove her family as frauds, not to mention the very hot 21 yr old ghost who died over 100 years ago.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, it had me laughing out loud and even feeling rather emotional at some points. It was the perfect mix of sweet, funny, crazy and i can't wait to read more of Melody's crazy adventures.
