Detavio x Angel & Monster x Natavi
Chileeee…..what do y’all have me reading out here in these literary streets? I don’t know if I would call this a dark romances, but it was definitely twisted!
I almost DNF’d this book because it started out slow. At first the story line was all over the place, it lacked depth, and it took a while for characters to be developed. However, when the book started focusing on Monster, there was a shift and I locked in. The story line started to take shape and it finally came together.
This book focused on two MMCs and FMCs and their connections to each other. Now, while I fell in love with Monster and Natavi’s story, I’m still scratching my head about Datavio and Angel’s situationship (I may come back later and update my review after I sit with it for a bit.)
This book focused on family drama and betrayal….Sometimes it be your own people! It also tapped into two of the most unsuspecting people and their journey towards normalcy and love. Check your triggers.…this one gets into some really touchy subjects

This book contains transphobic rhetoric. There's a character who is a man, who dresses like a girl to make his mother happy (the whole "indoctrination of children" bullshit), hates being a girl (NO ONE is forcing him to do this), claims that he's mentally unstable because of living this way ("transgender people are mentally ill" bullshit) and then reveals that the pills he was taking all this time were hormone replacement therapy and he "could have died". HRT, which is an acronym for hormone replacement therapy, which many cisgendered males utilize (not producing enough sperms cuz of low testosterone) and many cisgendered woman do too (menopause, hello!!!), doesn't fucking kill you. The black community needs to do better about being anti-trans. Fucking sucks this author dropped that shit in chapter 11. Uneducated smh
Graphic: Transphobia

I liked this book. The storyline was good and I loved Monster and Natavi dark love story and the relationship between the bothers was interesting. I wish Detavio and Angel relationship was developed more.

My favorite was Natavi & Monster. I felt more of a connection with them two versus Angel & Devatio. Angel & Devatio had more of a sexual connection, whereas Natavi & Monster had more of an emotional connection.
The secrets and lies. The twists and turns 😰. Jalissa & Impurity were some sick @$$ parents. Like wtf 🤯. I hope to see more of Octavio in the next book. I’m so curious about him.
Ngl I was so invested in this. This was good asf. I can’t wait for part 2.
