5⭐️ Audible listen. This one was the hardest to listen to so far. The co-dependency is real with these two and it’s so toxic. Yet here I am wanting them together.

I like how Aria refuses to give up her stance regarding Carter killing her family. It seems pretty rational that she’d hate him if he does it. I also like how she told Nik that he needed to move his men. It felt like she was doing what she could to support Carter, while he did nothing for her. But that’s Carter for ya.

Carter is an asshole. As always. He wants what he wants and that’s it.

Going to be brutally honest, I think I hate aria 90% of the time, and then like her 10% of the time.. sometimes I want to grab her by the shoulders and shake her and tell her how truly stupid she is.

In all honesty, I read Breathless—the third novel in the Merciless series—far too quickly. I had a tonne of questions after reading Heartless, and I was eager to get the answers. Every step forward in this novel is met with another step back, which makes it intense, tragic, swoon-worthy, and sometimes irritating. This is the continuation of Carter and Aria's story. There are also traces of Daniel and Addison. This was interesting to read. Carter loves Aria, and only she can save him, despite the fact that he has a really nasty side. But before that's likely to happen, they have a long and difficult path ahead of them. This book was full of dark, suspenseful, and hazardous crazy things, and the series is not even close to being finished.

“I’m exhausted from crying, but tired of being exhausted from crying.”

Book 3. Holy emotional drama. The war between the Cross brothers and Arias dad and other enemies breaks out and Aria finds her self in a safe house after Carter walks out on her not able to admit his feelings for her. She’s leaving him

What a raw and emotional rollercoaster you will be on while reading this book. It was the most intense of the books so far, with so much going on in the book that it will in fact leave you BREATHLESS. Absolutely amazing book, this book is the best one of the series. Can't wait to read the next one.

War is coming and tensions are high in the third chapter of the Merciless series. Aria and Carter continue to dance around each other, neither giving way, at odds and on uncertain terms as the reality of being together becomes more and more evident. Carter refuses to back down in his pursuit to destroy the Talvery organization and kill her father. Aria refuses to stand by and do nothing. And yet, these two are still pulled together by something deep within them.

Shots ring out and opponents come from all sides, including an unknown adversary whose ultimate goals and desires remain as yet unseen. The ending of this one will leave you grabbing the next as all hell breakes loose and no one is on stable ground.

This story is steamy, plot driven and angst filled. You'll be turning page after page racing to the end only to find that you have no idea what is going on or where anyone stands. The war has only begun and I am diving straight into the conclusion of this amazing series.
