I have never uttered the words, “Oh my God! What the fuck?! and Oh shit!” as much as I did while reading this book. Willow has definitely done it again with this third installment in the Merciless Series. I couldn’t stop once I started reading. Carter and Aria are such an unconventional and unexpected pairing, but they fit so well. This chapter in their warped love story is a testament of what you force yourself to endure and sacrifice for love. The love, hate, angst and shock of the way the Willow brings the events to life is nothing short of spectacular. This woman had the ability to break you down and put you back to get again. She’s my favorite demented little mastermind and I’m beyond excited for Endless.

I think I need a break...I don't even know how to rate this book....I hated it and I loved it...but mostly I was angry, but sometimes I feel like when a book can evoke such powerful emotions in you, it means that it was actually good, so I just don't know.

I had a to take a few breaks for this, because I just couldn't understand Aria, I still don't really understand Aria, but I want to pause this and talk about what I absolutely loathed...

I.do.not.like.Addison...I hate that she is apart of the Cross's life and I think she is awful for Daniel, every time there was scene with her, I was pissed off, I hated her. She's whiny and she can't let go of the fucking past. She keeps talking about they were never like that, but she won't accept them for who they are now! I hate her, like I hate her so much and I hate her for Aria, I didn't want them to get close...I just don't like her addition and for her it makes me want to give the book 2 stars, that is how much I loathe her.

Now, back to Aria. Aria pissed me off in this book. I felt like she was constantly misleading everyone and I just was not happy with her character development. She never cleared up Addison preconceived notions and just allowed every one think however they were thinking. I didn't like it.

Carter was an enigma too, like I get that he loves this girl, but come on, do something figure it out.

Overall, I guess it was good. Like I needed to know what was going to happen and I needed to get to the end, but I just don't understand so much still. I still have tons of questions and more importantly I don't know how to rate this one, because I didn't love it and damn sure didn't hate, but I wasn't feeling it either...I was more angry if anything. So does that mean it was good???

Breathless is next book in what has fast become one of my favorite series of all time. It combines dark mafia dominance with a love and romance that unites former enemies while also providing action, drama and an engaging storyline.

Willow Winters throws you head first into the action in this book as you resume the epic story of Carter and Aria. From Page One until you close the book you are taken an a wild ride that features both highs, lows and unbelievable twists and turns that you will not see coming. Breathless looks at the struggle for power and what power means or is worth to individual characters.

The Merciless series continues to get better each book. The characters, Carter and Aria are developing such depth and complexity as the books go on that you can't help but be caught up in their darkness. This book will drag you in so be prepared to set aside enough time to read it in one sitting as you will not want to put it down. It ends in another amazing, heartrending cliffhanger that only Willow Winters can devise so get ready to count down the days to Endless after reading this spectacular book.

The war continues with Breathless, book three in the Merciless series, and easily the most action-packed one yet. I could not put it down, desperate to see how the territory battled worked out and even more eager to discover if Aria and Carter could find a way. Of course, Willow Winters leaves us guessing again and we're left hoping, hoping for life, for love, for the battle to end.

"In her strength, she's at her most beautiful."

Breathless picks up right where Heartless ends, Aria making a choice, a choice that changes the course of everything. Aria and Carter have so much love, but hate still simmers in each of them and that hatred drives the battle forward. Each was so conflicted and I really think we saw more of Carter than we had in either of the previous two novels. He fights against what his heart and head want, revealing parts of him are still that young boy trying to guide his brothers and parts of him are cracked and hardened beyond repair. Aria, on the other hand, reveals her strength in this novel, and the two engage in a battle of desire. Each wants one another, but the future of the Cross Brothers' and the land they rule puts their relationship at stake. It's a matter of life and death, love and hate, and when the bullets fianlly stop there is no assurance that Aria and Carter will make it to the other side together.

"It's all going ot crumble. All because of her. I would have done anything for her."

The Merciless series has been impossible to put down, Willow Winters has written books that require you to binge read, gathering every bit of information and emotion you can from the pages. They're filled with action, bloodshed, and sexy smut that makes you forget there's a battle being waged. I think I loved Breathless the most though, and now I'm stuck waiting desperately for Endless.
