Che valutazione dare ad un libro che ti coinvolge a tal punto da sognarlo la notte? L'ho divorato e l'ho amato, spero che anche gli altri si mantengano su questo livello altissimo.

I didn’t write a review for this originally but I wanted to praise Elena Ferrante for such authentic writing. It’s not common to stumble upon a litfic series. This book really placed me in Southern Italy with its terse but lovely storytelling of two young women maneuvering their adolescence. The characters and the stories that follow them felt so real I honestly kept forgetting I was reading a fiction piece most of the way through. Excited to pick up the next three in the series.

I got frustrated with Lenú's infatuation with her friend Lila midway through the book, but I'm curious to see how she grows as a person through time in the other three books. I'm frustrated with Lila as a person. It's been a long while since I've read an Italian book, and this series has been on my list for a while and I'm glad I started. I'm just not sure if I'll finish the series completely.
